Kolkata/IBNS: Bengali actor Bonny Sengupta has been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the teacher recruitment scam in West Bengal, media reports said.

The ED has reportedly claimed to have discovered some financial terms between arrested Trinamool Congress leader Kuntal Ghosh and Bonny Sengupta.

Bonny has been asked to appear before the ED at the CGO Complex in Kolkata on Friday.

Due to his busy schedule, the actor appeared before the ED on Thursday.

Bonny, a former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) member, also runs a production house- named BK Entertainment- along with his actor girlfriend Koushani Mukherjee.

He made his acting debut in 2014 with Borbaad and went on to act in films like Parbona Ami Chartey Toke, Jio Pagla, Raja Rani Raji et al.

His latest release was Dal Bati Churma Chachchari, which was produced by BK Entertainment.

The probe agency has claimed a transaction of a big amount of money was done between the bank accounts of Kuntal and Bonny.

Former state education minister Partha Chatterjee, former primary education board president and Trinamool MLA Manik Bhattacharya are among the people who have been arrested so far in connection with the scam.
