New Delhi/IBNS: The Delhi Police Friday arrested a driver working with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) for allegedly spying and passing on confidential information to a person in Pakistan, media reports said.

Indian Express reported citing sources that the driver was honey-trapped and is being questioned by the police.

The driver was nabbed after security agencies informed the police that he was allegedly engaged in espionage and had been transferring sensitive information to someone in Pakistan, said the report.

An NDTV report said the driver was leaking information to a man, who was pretending to be a woman named Poonam Sharma or Pooja.

The source said that the driver was honey-trapped by an ISI person, The Hindu reported.

Media reports said the Delhi Police has, so far, not divulged further details of the case, as it is linked to national security.
