Manish Sisodia leads show of strength ahead of CBI quizzing in Delhi excise policy case

New Delhi/IBNS: Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia Monday led a show of strength in the national capital ahead of his quizzing by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the Delhi excise policy case, media reports said.

Sisodia with the national flag in hand held a massive roadshow disrupting city traffic, visited Raj Ghat, took blessings from Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi before heading to the CBI office.

The excise policy came under the scanner after Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena recommended a CBI probe into the alleged irregularities in the scheme.

Speaking to the media, Sisodia Monday said, "I am not afraid of getting arrested. I will be arrested for good work related to education. The BJP is scared because it is set to lose in the Gujarat elections."

"The way the freedom fighters were put to jail, I have been targeted in a false case. I feel proud of myself," he said.

While the AAP is apprehending Sisodia's arrest, the AAP has maintained that the Deputy Chief Minister is targeted over the upcoming elections in Gujarat, which is the homestate of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Hitting back at Sisodia's rally, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said, "The way they conducted the rally, it seems they have won the World Cup of corruption."

"The AAP is celebrating corruption," he added.
