New Delhi/UNI: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) and police Tuesday conducted another round of raids on the Popular Front of India (PFI) at multiple places across the country, official sources said.

Several persons have been detained.

The raids started in the morning and were on in eight states including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka, the sources added.

In Delhi, the raids took place in Rohini.

The Delhi Police said 30 persons have been detained.

On Sept 22, the NIA and the Enforcement Directorate raided multiple places in the country and arrested over 100 PFI members.

In connection with the recent violence-ridden flash hartal called by Popular Front of India (PFI), a radical Islamist group in India, Kerala Police arrested 1287 people and took into preventive custody 834 people so far, official sources said on Monday.

The PFI had called for a general strike on Sep 23 to protest the arrest of its leaders by the NIA across India.

About 308 cases were registered against PFI activists involved in violent incidents in various places in connection with the hartal on Friday last, police sources said.

The organisation is accused of radicalizing Muslim youths and recruiting them to join terror groups like ISIS.

Earlier on Thursday, the National Investigation Agency (NIA)  carried out raids at several locations across the country on properties of individuals linked to the Popular Front of India (PFI) and arrested more than 100 people.

Raids were carried out in 15 states at over 90 locations, and 106 individuals were arrested.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday held a meeting with top government officials on PFI. National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla, Director General of NIA Dinkar Gupta were among the top officials who attended the high-level meeting.
