Jammu/UNI: BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh on Sunday said that Union Home Minister Amit Shah would visit Jammu and Kashmir from September 30 to October 2.

During his visit, he will meet the intellectuals and prominent personalities will address two public meetings on Oct 1 in Rajouri and another rally in Baramullah on October 2, Chugh here told reporters.

"Amit Shah will visit different areas and this is a special occasion just like a festival as he was the key person to finish the controversial Articles 370 and 35(a) and broke the shackles of J&K residents to free them from long bondage. SCs, women, Gujjars-Bakkarwals and other communities were empowered after been neglected for 70 years," he added.

Similarly, Chugh said that Rajouri and Baramullah areas have been neglected for all these years, hence Amit Shah has decided to visit these areas and address the rallies there.

Today, J&K Airport with private airlines, tourist places are flooded with visitors. Now 'Pani & Jawani' of J&K are being utilized for the development of region" said Chugh.

Chugh further said that earlier governments directed J&K youth towards terrorism and handed over stones to them, whereas the Modi government has given them the power to use those stones for building their careers.

"Our motto is to develop J&K like other top-performing states of India," he added.

BJP J&K president, Ravinder Raina said that people from Rajouri, Poonch, Mendhar, Surakote, Matargote, Rajouri, Thanamandi, Darhal, Budhal, Nowshera, Sunderbani, Kalakote, Dhangri, Doongi and other border areas will be able to listen to Amit Shah at Bus Stand Ground, Rajouri.
