Indian Army rescues Israeli in Ladakh

Srinagar: The Indian army rescued an ailing Israeli national who was suffering from low oxygen and high altitude sickness in Ladakh region on Wednesday.

A Defence Ministry spokesman said Atar Kahana was suffering from high altitude sickness including vomiting and was take out by a helicopter unit from Nimaling camp near Markha Valley.

The soldiers reached the spot within 20 minutes of flying and spotted the Israeli at an elevation of 16,800 feet.
