New Delhi: Kashmiri Pandits on Sunday staged a protest at Jantar Mantar and demanded that the government must take measures to punish the killer of Rahul Bhat.

Speaking at a press conference, Sumeer Chrungoo, President, Kashmir Samiti Delhi, said that if the government is really serious about the return of Kashmiri Pandits, then first and foremost thing it has to do is to recognise that Kashmiri Pandits are victims of genocide.

Vithal Chowdhary, a senior leader of Panun Kashmir, demanded that strict action be taken against DC, Badgam for not acting on the security threat to Rahul and delaying his transfer leading to his assassination.

He also demanded action to be taken against SP, Badgam for using batons, stun guns and tear gas on mourning Kashmiri Pandits.

The protestors belonging to all age groups and shades of life assembled in huge numbers and asked to pass the genocide bill immediately.

Ashish Razdan, activist, Roots in Kashmir, warned that if government did not act against the culprits, Kashmiri Pandits will launch a nationwide campaign on how Hindus of Kashmir are being persecuted both by the terrorist and the administration.

Kashmiri Pandit Rahul Bhat, a government employee, was shot down by terrorists at the Tehsildar office in Chadoora on Thursday.

Two days after the killing of Rahu Bhat, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said that the shooting was targeted and that the SIT is probing the case from all angles.
