EAM Jaishankar discusses boosting economic ties with US Commerce Secretary, USTR official

Washington/New Delhi/UNI: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Tuesday held talks with the US Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo and US Trade Representative Katherine Tai to discuss the bilateral economic partnership.

In his meeting with the Commerce Secretary, he said the two held talks on enhancing the economic partnership.

"A good meeting with the Commerce Secretary @SecRaimondo. Discussed accelerating our economic partnership. Our goal is to enhance resilience and reliability of supply chains and enhance trust and transparency in business."

On his meeting with Katherine Tai, he tweeted: "Good to catch up with USTR @AmbassadorTai.

"Discussed our bilateral trade and exchanged notes on the global situation."

Katherine Tai in a tweet said with the re-launch of the U.S.-India Trade Policy Forum the two sides have strengthened bilateral trade and economic cooperation.

"Today I met with India's Minister of External Affairs @DrSJaishankar. With the re-launch of the U.S.-India Trade Policy Forum last fall, we have strengthened our bilateral trade & economic cooperation. I am excited to continue this work with India moving forward."
