India Blooms News Service | @indiablooms | 27 Feb 2022, 04:25 pm

Srinagar: Authorities in Kashmir valley on Sunday said that all 225 students studying in the war-hit country of Ukraine were safe and the Government of India was taking all measures to bring them back safely.

"About 225 students of Kashmir valley, who are studying along with 2000 students from other parts of India in Ukraine colleges, are safe and sound," Divisional Commissioner of Kashmir Pandurang K Pole said.

The DC expressed his views from Jawahar Lal Nehru Memorial Hospital in Srinagar, where the Pulse polio immunisation programme was kickstarted today, for children under five years.

"The students are safe and sound and there is no difficulty with them. The students are in constant touch with the Indian Embassy there, which is taking good care of them all," he added.

He said the first flight carrying students from Ukraine landed in Mumbai yesterday and more were expected to reach soon.

Pole said the Government of India and the Ministry of External Affairs have already opened a control room in this matter and if any parent faces any difficulty in reaching out to their children studying in Ukraine, they can contact the helpline number and their miseries would be sorted out.
