CBI summons TMC leader Anubrata Mondal in cattle smuggling case

Kolkata/IBNS: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has summoned Trinamool Congress (TMC) Birbhum district president Anubrata Mondal in connection with its ongoing probe into a cattle smuggling case, officials said.

According to sources in the Central probe agency, the TMC leader has been asked to appear before CBI investigators in Kolkata on Feb 14 (Monday).

No reaction has been received from Anubrata Mondal in this regard.

Meanwhile, the CBI has also served a notice to actor-turned-TMC MP Dev in connection with the same case, asking him to appear at the probe agency's office in Kolkata's Nizam Palace on Feb 15.

Besides CBI, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is also probing the Bengal-based multi-crore cattle smuggling racket operating on the Indo-Bangladesh border.
