West Bengal govt extends COVID-19 restrictions till Jan 31, 200 people allowed to attend marriage ceremony

Kolkata: The West Bengal government on Saturday extended the ongoing COVID-19 restrictions in the state till Jan 31.

However, certain relaxations were also announced by the government in its latest circular.

As per the new circular, as many as 200 people are now allowed to attend marriage functions.

Amid COVID-19 spike, the government had recently capped the figure to 50.

The government was also allowed to host a fair in an open air venue in a very restrictive manner.

West Bengal is witnessing a spike in COVID-19 cases in recent times.
