Police questiones Nalini Singh on Sunanda Pushkar

India Blooms News Service | | 23 Jan 2015, 06:43 pm
New Delhi, Jan 23 (IBNS) The Special Investigating Team (SIT) of Delhi Police on Friday examined veteran journalist Nalini Singh in connection with the mysterious death of Sunanda Pushkar, wife of former Union Minister Shashi Tharoor.

Reports said Singh confirmed that she was questioned by the police.  “I was examined as Sunanda had telephoned me on the same day she died,” she said.

Singh was questioned for about 80 minutes at Sarojini Nagar police station.

Delhi Police filed a case of murder on January 1 after a medical report stated that Pushkar's death was due to poisoning. The SIT, formed to prove the case has already questioned Tharoor and few other people.

Pushkar was found dead in a Delhi five star hotel on January 17, 2014.

Singh said Pushkar had wanted to talk to her regarding the IPL and said that she had taken all the blame on herself.

"Sunanda remained silent when I asked if she wanted to talk to the media," Singh said.
