New Delhi/UNI: Congress continued its attack on the Modi government against the plan to sell national assets, and party leaders will hold press conferences in Goa and Puducherry on Tuesday as a part of a series of conferences being held over the monetisation plan of the union government.

"Modi sarkar, how could you sell Bharat Mata's crown jewels? Why does national interest mean nothing to you?" the Congress questioned in a tweet on Tuesday.

The party also shared a video clipping of a press conference addressed by Rahul Gandhi on the issue last week, where the leader had alleged that the assets will be sold to few corporate friends of the government.

Congress leaders have been launching attacks against the government over the monetisation plan continuously, and the party has also planned a series of press conferences across several cities in the country to take their message to the people.

Congress leader and former minister Pallam Raju will address a press conference in Goa, and party spokesperson Shama Mohamed will address one in Puducherry.

Over 20 press conferences are to be held across the country, including in several state capitals between Aug 31 and Sep 4, addressed by senior party leaders including Mallikarjun Kharge, P. Chidambaram, Shashi Tharoor, and Sachin Pilot along with others.

Upto 25 airports, 40 railway stations, and 15 railway stadiums, among other installations, have been identified to get private investments in the Rs. 6 lakh crore monetisation plan announced by the Finance Minister.
