Changing equations in Afghanistan a challenge for India: Rajnath Singh

Chennai/UNI: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday said the changing equations in Taliban-controlled Afghanistan was a challenge for India.

Addressing officers of Defence Service Staff College at Wellington in Nilgiris district of Tamil Nadu, he said the situation in Afghanistan has forced India to rethink its strategy.

'We are changing our strategy and the formation of Quad underlines this strategy", he said.

Pointing out that taking quick decisions during wars was very important, Mr Rajnath Singh said the Defence Ministry was seriously considering the formation of an integrated battle groups for making quick decisions during wars.

"These groups will not only facilitate faster and quick decision-making, but also increase the number of integrated fighting units", he added.
