New Delhi/IBNS: Seventy five Vande Bharat trains, like the Udan Scheme for flights, will help connect India's far-flung areas, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said today as India celebrates its 75th Independence Day.

"Seventy five Vande Bharat trains will connect every corner of the country during the 75 weeks of the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence," Prime Minister Narendra Modi said today.

"The pace at which new airports are being built in the country and the UDAN scheme connecting remote areas is unprecedented. We can see how better air connectivity gives new flights to people's dreams," he said, citing the government scheme to connect airports in far flung areas to the major cities.

Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is the government's scheme to mark 75 years of India's independence.  It started from 12th March and will continue till 15th August, 2023.

"Today a new history of connectivity is being written in the North-East. This is a connectivity of both the hearts and the infrastructure. Very soon the work of connecting all the state capitals of the North-East with rail service is going to be completed," he said.

"Under the Act-East Policy, today North-East, Bangladesh, Myanmar and South-East Asia are also being connected. Due to the efforts made in the past years, now the enthusiasm for the creation of Shreshtha Bharat and long lasting peace in the North-East has increased manifold," he added.

The Prime Minister gave a call for ''Sabka Prayas'' along with ''Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas'' for building a new India.
