
Kashmir: PDP to boycott of Delimitation Commission meetings
Srinagar/UNI: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has decided not to meet the Delimitation Commission (DC), arriving here this afternoon on a four-day visit to meet representatives of different political parties, State Election Commission (SEC) officials and other government officers in Jammu and Kashmir.
Party sources told UNI that the party has decided not to meet the commission.
The Commission headed by Justice (retd) Ranjana Prakash Desai will interact with political leaders and civil society groups, Deputy Commissioners and Panchayati Raj Institution members to gather first-hand inputs to carve out new constituencies in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Peoples Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) at a meeting at the residence of former Chief Minister and National Conference (NC) president Dr Farooq Abdullah on Monday, left to constituent alliance partners to decide about meeting the commission.
The NC, CPI(M), Apni Party (AP), BJP, Peoples Conference (PC) and other invitees have decided to meet the commission.
