After Bengal win, TMC aims to oust BJP-led govt in Tripura

Agartala/UNI: With the re-entry of veteran leader Mukul Roy to the Trinamool Congress (TMC), the ongoing crisis of the ruling BJP in Tripura has deepened further.

The TMC is coming in a big way to rescue the people of Tripura from the misrule of BJP, said TMC state president Ashis Lal Singh, the son of the first Chief Minister of Tripura Sachindra Lal Singh today.

He said, “We are doing our work for the expansion of Trinamool at the grass-root level across the state. By the next couple of weeks, full-fledged activities of the party against the misrule of BJP in Tripura will launch. Culturally, linguistically and socially West Bengal is closer to Tripura and the three-year rule of Biplab Kumar Deb government here has frustrated the people.”

He said after the third government led by Mamata Banerjee was established in West Bengal, a large number of people from the ruling BJP and opposition CPI-M and Congress have been joining TMC here.

A sizable number of BJP MLAs and senior leaders have been in the process of strengthening the TMC to oust Biplab Kumar Deb led corrupt and vindictive government from power, he stated.

He declined to detail the party planning for Tripura but said, “Our leaders are very keen to serve here.”

According to a report, TMC leaders have targeted to make the inner conflict at BJP top-level and large-scale dissidence against Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb instrumental to disband the BJP-IPFT government in Tripura.

A large number of BJP MLAs became hostile against the CM after he ousted senior party leader and main architect of installing BJP government in Tripura Sudip Roybarman from the cabinet two years ago.

The situation worsened after Chief Minister Deb chose Dr Manik Saha, a Congressman and greenhorn in politics as state president of BJP leaving aside a bunch of senior and dedicated leaders.

The people, who came from CPI-M or active businessmen, were given all-important executive posts in the state committee. As many as four ministerial berths have been left vacant for the last three years and CM holds 28 important departments like health, PWD and industries and commerce.

The Chief Minister has been accused of persuading personal vendetta against his cabinet colleagues, MLAs, party leaders, media persons and top bureaucrats by phone tapping, spying against their political activities and personal life. He has also been accused of insulting his MLAs and leaders using government officers.

A senior BJP MLA pointed out that the objectionable activities of the Chief Minister and anti-incumbency against the government because of anti-people stands have been apprised to central leadership including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP national president J P Nadda and others repeatedly but those yield any result yet. Meantime, the arrogance of the Chief Minister and his team increased manifold and they openly resorted to attacks on their MLAs and leaders.

“We have lost ADC because of the unilateral decision of the Chief Minister defying all the leaders to continue alliance with IPFT, which had openly scrapped relations in previous elections too. All frontal organisations including the Mandals have been given to the clutch of CPI-M who joined the party after BJP won the assembly elections.

"All the contracts and tenders are being sold to the people who are satisfying a particular group. We made it clear to central bosses, it is too late and now BJP is a sinking ship in Tripura,” the MLA added.
