SMC organizes special sanitation drives in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir

Srinagar/IBNS: Srinagar Municipal Corporation today organised multiple special sanitation drives on the occasion of World Environment Day.

Divisional Commissioner Kashmir P.K Pole was the Chief guest at the main event organised at Bemina.

The multiple events were organised in different wards of the city by organising special sanitation drives and plantation drives.

Divisional Commissioner along with Commissioner SMC went to several areas of the city where the events took place.

“The plantation and sanitation drive had taken place at Hokarsar bund, Shalimar water  channel, Shankarya Acharya, Foreshore road west, Konikhan, from Peerbagh Bridge to Rawalpora bund, Palpora Bund, Waagan pora Eidgah, Makhdoom Sahib, HasnaAbad, Doodgh Ganga Nallah to  Chattabal,Buspar, Boatman colony, Buspora, Barzullah to Khan Mohallah, Zaina Kadal to Khan Kahi  Mohallah,” SMC said in a statement.

It said extensive sanitation was also conducted in Hamdani Colony Dood Ganga, from Kursoo to  Rambagh flood Channel, Acha Bagh Malla Bagh, Khushal Sar, Jamia Masjid, Barbarshah, Batpora,  Shankarpora and other areas.

Commissioner SMC who accompanied Pole apprised him that SMC has doubled the garbage collection efficiency in the Srinagar City.
