President, PM mourns loss of lives in AP bus mishap

New Delhi, Jan 7 (IBNS) President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have condemned the loss of lives in bus mishap in Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday which has killed more than 12 people.

 Pranab Mukherjee has condoled the loss of lives in a bus accident in Andhra Pradesh.

In a message to E.S.L. Narasimhan, the Governor of Andhra Pradesh, the President has said, “I am deeply saddened to learn about the incident today in which a number of persons lost their lives and some were critically injured, when a bus fell into a gorge in Anantapur District of Andhra Pradesh. I understand relief operations are underway.

"I am sure that the State Government and other agencies are taking necessary steps to provide urgent medical assistance to the injured and all possible aid to the bereaved families, who have lost their near and dear ones," he said.

"Please convey my heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased. I wish speedy recovery to the injured persons," Mukherjee said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed grief on the unfortunate accident in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh.

He has extended condolences to the families of those who lost their lives, the Prime Minister's Office said in a statement on Wednesday.

Modi also wished a speedy recovery to those injured in the accident.

Several others were injured in the mishap.
