Kolkata/IBNS: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has summoned West Bengal Director of Security, IPS Gyanwant Singh, in connection with its ongoing probe into an illegal coal mining scam,  officials said on Saturday.

According to sources in the Central probe agency, serving a notice to the senior IPS officer as well as the Director General (DG) of the state police force, CBI has asked Gyanwant Singh to appear before the investigators for interrogation in Kolkata's Nizam Palace on Tuesday (May 4).

Besides CBI and Enforcement Directorate (ED), state Criminal Investigation Department (CID) is also probing the recently busted Bengal-based illegal coal mining and smuggling scam.
