Didi defaming Nandigram people with false allegation of attack: Modi targets Mamata in Kanthi

Kanthi/IBNS: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday slammed West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for "falsely accusing" people of Nandigram of conspiring an attack on her in the Midnapore district.

Modi, who was delivering a fiery speech at Kanthi which also falls in Medinipur, referred to the Mar 10 incident when Mamata got injured while she was addressing a crowd from her car.

"Nandigram has given so much to you (Mamata Banerjee) but you are falsely accusing people of Nandigram! Nandigram will give a befitting reply to you," said Modi, who is the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s main campaigner, in the poll-bound state.

The Nandigram seat has gained significance in the 2021 elections as Mamata herself is contesting as a TMC candidate against her former lieutenant and BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari.

Besides Mamata, Modi on Wednesday launched a scathing attack on the TMC supremo's parliamentarian nephew Abhishek Banerjee, who is also leading the ruling party's campaign from the front in this election.

Accusing Abhishek of corruption, Modi said, "All the Amphan reliefs sent by the central government to people were looted by the bhaipo window."

The BJP leaders have been targeting Abhishek calling her "bhaipo" or "nephew", accusing Mamata of running nepotism in Bengal politics.

Modi also tried to reach out to the people of Medinipur on Wednesday accusing the Chief Minister's "absence" of the need for commoners.

"Didi never used to visit here but when elections come, she brings sarkar to duare, duare," said the PM, taking a dig at the TMC government's recent initiative, Duare Sarkar (government at doorstep).

Buoyant by the loud cheer from the crowd, Modi said he was sure that his political adversary, TMC, will be shown the door on May 2, when the poll results will be declared.

"On May 2, Didi will be shown the door," said Modi.

The Prime Minister has promised that farmers of the state will be handed over the amount of money which is pending due to the TMC government's blocking of the Centre's PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme.

"I promise you to transfer all pending money for the last three years after the BJP comes to power on May 2," said Modi.

"The wall blocking the central scheme to run in the state will be broken on May 2," he said, exuding confidence of the BJP's win in the state polls beginning on Mar 27.

Modi on Wednesday slammed Mamata for calling the BJP leaders "outsiders" in West Bengal.

"We are all the son of this country. This is the land of Gurudev Tagore. We are not outsiders Didi," the PM thundered.
