Telangana Finance Minister presents tax-free budget of over Rs 2.30 lakh crore

Hyderabad/UNI: Telangana Finance Minister T Harish Rao presented a  Rs 2.30 lakh crore tax-free budget for the fiscal year 2021-22 in the state Assembly on Thursday.

The Telangana state budget estimates a revenue-expenditure of more than Rs 1.69 lakh crore, while the Income Expenditure is expected over Rs 29,000 crore.

The Revenue Surplus and fiscal deficit have been projected at Rs. 6,743 crore and more than Rs.45,000 crore respectively for Telangana

The Welfare and Irrigations sectors received  priority in this year's budgetary allocations.

In his budget speech, the minister said that in the last seven years, the state had surpassed many states in development and added that the Telangana government was striving to fulfill the aspirations of the people.
