Haryana: Panic spreads after 5 live bombs found in Ambala

Ambala/UNI: Five live bombs were recovered in Padlu canal on the border of Ambala-Kurukshetra districts today. A bomb disposal team reached the spot and defused the bombs.

According to information, the local residents had informed the police about the bombs found in Markanda river which flows near the village.

Police reached the spot on receiving the information.

Police station in charge Balkar Singh said that he had received information about two bombs found in the river bed early in the morning through a mobile call.

Later, SHO Shahbad Pratik also reached the spot to join the Saha police in investigation. The bomb disposal squad defused these bombs.

In the meanwhile, he received information of recovery of three more bombs.

The matter is under investigation, he said.

Police has appealed to the people not to  take the incident lightly and cooperate with them.

An investigation has been launched to find out how the five live bombs were brought and who was acting behind the whole incident.

During preliminary investigation, police learned that the bombs were old and had rust on surface.
