Assam Excise department seizes huge quantity of illegal liquor

Guwahati/IBNS: Assam Excise department seized a huge quantity of illegal foreign liquor and arrested two persons in Assam's Sonitpur district.

Based on intelligence input, a team of Excise department led by Debajit Nath, Superintendent of Excise of Sonitpur district intercepted a vehicle (Hyundai Getz) at Choibari on NH-15 under Sootea circle last night carrying IMFL & Beer for sale in Arunachal Pradesh.

During the search, the team recovered 162 IMFL bottles, 63 beer bottles from the car.

The team had also arrested two persons under section 53 of Assam Excise Act, 2018 who carried the liquor.
