New Delhi/IBNS: The Supreme Court on Tuesday said Congress parliamentarian Shashi Tharoor and six journalists, who have charged under multiple laws for their tweets in connection with the Republic Day violence, from any arrest, media reports said.

A three-judge bench of Chief Justice Sharad Arvind Bobde and Justices AS Bopanna and V Ramasubramanian passed the order.

"We are issuing notice...nothing is going to happen," the CJI said as quoted by NDTV.

The case will be heard two weeks later.

Among the six journalists were Rajdeep Sardesai, Mrinal Pande, Zafar Agha, Vinod K Jose, Paresh Nath and Anant Nath.

All seven accused including Tharoor were charged under the laws of sedition, promotion of enmity and criminal conspiracy for their tweets.

They were accused of posting false tweets blaming the Delhi Police for killing a farmer during the farmers' tractor rally on Jan 26.

First Information Reports (FIRs) were filed against the seven in five states.

At least one farmer was killed and more than 100 police personnel were injured during the tractor rally by the farmers who are protesting against the Centre's agricultural reforms for over 70 days.
