
PM Narendra Modi pays homage at National War Memorial ahead of R-Day parade
New Delhi/UNI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday paid homage to India's fallen soldiers at the National War Memorial here.
The national flag was unfurled followed by the national anthem with a booming 21-gun salute. Later, Mr Modi penned down his thoughts in the war memorial's visitor book.
The prime minister was accompanied by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh. Both the leaders were joined by Chief of Defence Staff — General Bipin Rawat, Chief of the Army Staff — General Manoj Mukund Naravane, Chief of the Naval Staff — Admiral Karambir Singh at the site.
This is an annual tradition post which the Republic Day Parade commences with President Ram Nath Kovind taking the salute.
