Kolkata/IBNS: Few months ahead of the West Bengal assembly election, Pirzada of Furfura Sharif shrine, Abbas Siddiqui, on Thursday launched his new political party- Indian Secular Front (ISF), adding a new angle to the political battle for the state's minority vote-bank.

Abbas Siddiqui's brother, Nausad Siddiqui, has been declared as the chairman of the ISF while Simul Soren has been named its president.

This development comes two weeks after All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) president Asaduddin Owaisi held a meeting with Abbas Siddiqui for two hours and stated that his party was all set to contest in upcoming assembly polls in West Bengal under Siddiqui's leadership.

After forming the party, Siddiqui clarified that he will not contest in the polls as he wanted to be a kingmaker who will work for the Muslims, Dalits, and the poor people.

The Pirzada said that they were presently considering all 294 assembly seats in the state and will hold talks with other political parties, including AIMIM, soon to discuss a front as well as seat-sharing.
