Deputy Speaker of Karnataka Legislative Council SL Dharmegowda found dead

Bangalore: Karnataka Legislative Council Deputy Speaker SL Dharmegowda was found dead close to a railway track in Chikkamagaluru region of the state, media reports said.

The police was quoted as saying by NDTV that it was a case of suicide and a note was also found near his body.
According to media reports, a suicide note has been recovered.

JD(S) leader and former chief minister of Karnataka, HD Kumaraswamy, has expressed grief over the incident.

He tweeted: "Vice president @Janatadal_S The news of the suicide of senior party leaders and of my brothers, SL Dharmega Gowda, came as a shock. We lost a politician of impeccable personality. May the Lord have mercy on the family and fans of Dharmagowda."
