Amit Shah to reach Guwahati tonight for his three-day-long NE visit

Guwahati/IBNS: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will reach Guwahati on Friday night for his three-day-long North East visit.

Shah will lay the foundation stone of several government schemes in Guwahati on Dec 26.

He will also distribute financial grants to 8,000 Namghars (traditional Vaisnavite monasteries) of the state and address a public rally.

Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that Shah will lay the foundation stone of three important schemes including beautification of the birthplace of Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardeva, second medical college in Guwahati and 10 law colleges.

Shah will meet religious leaders of 8000 Namghars and will distribute various grants to these Namghars.

The Union Home Minister has got meetings with various NDA partners in Assam including Asom Gana Parishad (AGP), United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL).

Shah will also meet Assam state BJP core committee members and will take stock of party’s poll preparedness ahead of assembly polls in the state.

On Dec 27, the Union Home Minister will leave to Imphal from Guwahati and he will lay the foundation stone of Churachandpur medical college and other projects.

Shah will also meet civil society groups of Manipur and leave to Delhi the same day.
