
Coronavirus vaccine to be ready in next few weeks: PM Modi
New Delhi/UNI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said that the vaccine against Covid-19 will be ready in the next few weeks and the vaccination programme will start soon after.
Modi said that the price of the coronavirus vaccine will be determined on the basis of consultation with the states keeping public health as topmost priority.
The Prime Minister was presiding over an all party meeting here to discuss the situation arising out of the Coronavirus pandemic in the country.
Modi said that on the basis of interactions with experts and scientists, it can be said that the Coronavirus vaccine will be ready in the next few weeks in the country.
For determining the price of the much-awaited vaccine, the central government is in talks with the states and their advice will also be given preference, he told the political parties.
Though Modi had earlier stressed on vaccines for all, Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan on Tuesday said, "I just want to make this clear that the government has never spoken about vaccinating the entire country. It's important that we discuss such scientific issues, based on factual information only."
