Lalu Prasad trying to poach NDA MLAs, alleges Sushil Modi

Patna/IBNS: Former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, Sushil Modi, has alleged his opponent Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) is trying to poach the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) MLAs to form government after losing the assembly elections by a narrow margin.

Modi, whose party won the elections in an alliance with Janata Dal (United) and two other parties, has alleged jailed RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav was trying to reach out to the NDA MLAs and was offering "ministerial berths".

He tweeted, "Lalu Yadav making telephone call (8051216302) from Ranchi to NDA MLAs & promising ministerial berths. When I telephoned, Lalu directly picked up.I said don’t do these dirty tricks from jail, you will not succeed."

In the recently concluded Bihar polls, RJD, despite emerging as the single largest party with 75 seats, failed to win as its ally Congress could bag only 19 seats though the Left parties had registered an impressive performance.

In the NDA camp, Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led BJP with its 74 seats helped the national alliance to sail through as Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's JD(U) faltered.

While the NDA won 125 seats, the RJD-led grand alliance could win 110 seats.
