Unlock: Limit of pilgrims to Mata Vaishno Devi increased from 7k to 15k per day

Jammu/UNI: The maximum limit to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Bhawan has been increased to 15000 in fresh guidelines issued here by the government.

A senior official on Friday said that the Union Home Secretary in his capacity as Chairperson, National Executive Committee (NEC), has issued guidelines for implementation of the extended lockdown in Containment Zones (Red Zones) till November 30 and continuation of unlock guidelines outside Containment Zones (Red Zones).

As such, in exercise of powers conferred under Section 24 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, the State Executive Committee also ordered that the guidelines/instructions issued shall continue to remain valid till November 30.

However, instead of a ceiling of 7000, the upper limit for permissible number of pilgrims to SMVD Shrine, Katra, shall be 15000 from November 1.

All Other protocol/ instructions shall continue to remain valid till 30.11.2020, it said.
