Manipur police seize arms ahead of bye-polls

Imphal/IBNS: Manipur police have seized arms ahead of the bye-elections in the state.

In connection with the upcoming bye-polls of Lilong and Wangjing Tentha assembly constituencies in Manipur’s Thoubal district, Manipur police have conducted a cordon and house to house search operation in many places.

The police team conducted a search operation at Lilong Turel Ahanbi Darul Uloom eastern and northern areas on Thursday.

During the operation, the police team had seized 3 Double Barrel guns, 2 Single Barrel along with cartridges and 1 Non Prohibited Bore ( NPB) ’20 pistol from different houses in the area.

The police team had properly searched about 60 houses and about 350 residents including females were verified.
