The probe has been initiated after a letter by the Superintendent of Police. Naming the SDM Mahsi as the Investigating Officer, a report has been sought in 15 days.

As per sources here, Panne Lal Yadav, a resident of Gram Manaitapur in Gorakhpur's Gulariha, was a notorious criminal and had been absconding since many years. He also had a bounty of Rs 50,000 on his head.
