Terrorist attack in Manipur: Mortal remains of Assam Rifles jawan reach Guwahati airport

Guwahati/IBNS: The mortal remains of Assam Rifles jawan late Pranay Kalita hailing from Bajali area in Assam’s Barpeta district arrived at Guwahati airport on Friday.

Pranay Kalita and two other Assam Rifles jawans were martyred in terrorist attack in Chandel district of Manipur on Wednesday evening.

Senior officials of Assam police, Assam Rifles have paid befitting tribute to the martyred jawan at the airport before taking the mortal remains at his native village for last rites.

Three Assam Rifles jawans were killed and six others injured a terrorist attack in Chandel district.

Banned outfit United Liberation Front of Asom – Independent (ULFA-I), People’s Liberation Army (PLA) of Manipur and Manipur Naga People’s Front (MNPF) had jointly claimed responsibility for the attack.
