New Delhi/UNI: The Supreme Court on Thursday dismissed a petition seeking a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the death of Indian actor Sushant Singh Rajput.

The petitioner, one Alka Priya, has urged the court to transfer the investigations of the death case from Mumbai Police to the CBI.

"The Mumbai Police are probing the matter. You (Alka) can go before the Bombay High Court and seek appropriate relief if you desire," a three-judge bench of Apex Court headed by Chief Justice of India (CJI) S A Bobde said.

"There is nothing in the appeal. Petitioner has no locus standi in the matter," the bench said and dismissed the petition.

In another relevant development, the family of Sushant, has filed a caveat before the apex court seeking either a hearing or becoming a party in the case, before the SC passes any order.

The 34-year-old actor, hailing from Bihar, was found hanging at his apartment in Mumbai on Jun 14.

The Mumbai police are investigating the death case.
