New Delhi/UNI: The Delhi government on Thursday reduced Value-Added Tax (VAT) on diesel in the national capital from 30 per cent to 16.75%, bringing the price of the fuel down by Rs 8.36 per litre.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced the decision after chairing the Delhi cabinet meeting here.

'Delhi Cabinet has decided to reduce VAT on diesel from 30% to 16.75%. This will reduce the price of diesel in Delhi from Rs 82 to Rs 73.64 i.e. by Rs 8.36 per litre,' Kejriwal said while addressing a digital press conference here.

"Delhi government is for common people. This decision will relieve common people from inflation," added the CM.
