Journalist Vikram Joshi, who was shot in Ghaziabad, dies

Ghaziabad/UNI: Journalist Vikram Joshi, who was shot at by unknown gunmen near his residence in Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad on Monday night, died at a hospital, here on Wednesday.

He was travelling on a motorcycle with his two daughters when the gunmen fired at him around 1030 hours.

The journalist was rushed to a nearby hospital where his condition was said to be critical. The incident was captured on a CCTV footage.

Joshi was admitted to Yashoda Hospital in Nehru Nagar, Ghaziabad, where he succumbed to his injuries early Wednesday morning.

The incident took place days after he complained to the police against a group of men for harassing his neice.

Nine accused have been arrested so far in the case. The station-in-charge, where Joshi had filed the complaint, has also been suspended for not taking action over the complaint.
