Maharashtra: Youth arrested for raping, killing young woman

Nanded/UNI: The Markhel police arrested an accused of allegedly committing rape and killing an 18 years girl in Degloor tehsil of the district at late in the evening on Monday.

As per the police source, the matter came to the surface after three days of the incidence when the body was spotted by the villagers in deteriorated condition.

The accused Bharat Sanjay Gaikwad (21), resident of Loni in Degloor tehsil had an illicit relationship with an 18 years girl from Dhanagarwadi of the same tehsil.

They had decided to marry but that the accused was postponing it for the reason unknown.

Fed up with the continuous insisting of the girl to marry the accused took her in a forest near to the village where he committed rape and killed her by strangulation.When the girl did not return on the second also her relatives lodged a complaint with the Markhel police and started a search.

They spotted the dead body in the nearby forest which was partially consumed by wild beasts.

The sub-divisional police officer Ramesh Sarvade along with assistant police inspector Aditya Lonikar rushed to the spot.

The body was sent for autopsy. Immediately the police, acting on a complaint lodged by Janabai Suryavanshi, arrested the accused Bharat Gaikwad and filed a case against him under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. An investigation was going on.
