Vande Bharat Mission : 2 AI flights from Manila, US with stranded passengers lands at RGIA

Hyderabad/UNI: As part of the biggest ever off-shore evacuation drive of Indian citizens under the Government of India’s Vande Bharat Mission, amid the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown, two Air India Evacuation flights landed at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in Shamshabad near here on Thursday.

A statement said, the 5th Vande Bharat Evacuation flight of Air India AI 1612 from Manila Via Delhi landed at RGIA at 0158 hours with 149 passengers .

The 6th Vande Bharat Evacuation flight of Air India AI 104 from Washington Via Delhi landed at RGIA at 0822 hours  with 163 passengers.

The passengers of both the flights were serviced through the fully sanitized International Arrivals of the main passenger terminal of RGIA.

Later in the day, the 7th Vande Bharat evacuation flight of Air India AI 1385 from Kula Lumpur is expected to land at Hyderabad International Airport at around 2015 hours tonight.

To facilitate the arriving passengers and aircraft crew, the RGIA has kept the international arrivals and the entire stretch right from the aerobridge to the arrivals ramp fully sanitized and fumigated.

This included - sanitization of every nook & corner of building and public areas including washrooms, chairs, counters, trolleys, railings, doors, lifts, escalator’s etc.

The Airport also enforced the social distancing among passengers right from the aerobridge to across the terminal, the statement added.
