Jharkhand: 5 dead, 3 others injured as trailer crushes people in Charhi of Hazaribagh

Hazaribagh/UNI: Five people lost their lives while three others sustained serious injuries as a trailer hit people standing on road side on NH-33 under Charhi Police Station area of this district.

Police said that the incident took place at Ghato Mode of Charhi Chowk.

In the morning, a group of people had gathered at the spot and were chitchatting and reading newspaper. Later, they were asked to leave in view of the lockdown.

But, they again gathered on the spot, after the police left, he said.

Meanwhile, a truck coming from Ranchi was speeding towards Ghato Mode and the trailer was coming from Hazaribaghand they came face-to-face.

To avoid collision with the truck, the trailer driver turned towards the people standing on the spot and hit them before they could make an escape.

The deceased have been identified as Dilip Kumar, Janki Prajapati, Rajendra Prajapati, Baiju Thakur alias Bijay Thakur and Om Prakash Razak.
Three people who were critically injure are Sanjay Kumar Singh, Devlal Mahto and the driver of the vehicle. They were rushed to the hospital and undergoing treatment.
