Bangladesh witnesses major spike in COVID-19 infection in 24 hours, 2 more people die

Dhaka/IBNS: Bangladesh registered the deaths of two more COVID-19 infected patients in the past 24 hours, media reports said on Sunday.

The death toll now stands at 177, said Prof Dr Nasima Sultana, additional director general (administration) of DGHS, during a briefing as reported by The Daily Star.

Six hundred and sixty-five people have tested positive for Covid-19 in the period of the past 24 hours.

This is the highest spike in the number of COVID-19 infected patients in a time period of 24 hours since the disease was first reported in the country.

So far, 9,455 people have been infected by the disease.

A total of 5,368 samples were tested across the country since yesterday, Dr Nasima was quoted  as saying by the newspaper.
