New Delhi/IBNS: The Delhi Police is trying to trace the people who attended Tablighi Jamaat in Delhi's Nizamuddin in mid-March or were in the vicinity, using cellphone data, said a media report.

According to an NDTV report, Delhi Police is checking the whereabouts of all those people whose GPS location in March showed their presence for several days in the area.

Delhi Police is also being helped by other states in tracing the Jamaat attendees.

At least 9000 people, including foreigners, attended Tablighi Jamaat at Nizamuddin Markaz mosque ignoring government prohibition against large gatherings.

At least 1000 coronavirus positive cases reported so far in India have been linked to the congregation.
