Entire India will be locked down from 12 midnight for 21 days: Modi to nation

India Blooms News Service | @indiablooms | 24 Mar 2020, 02:44 pm

Highlights of PM Modi address to the nation: He said from 12 midnight, the entire country will be under lockdown- every corner of India for 21 days. He said: This is beyond Janta Curfew. This is our final battle against Corona. The country has to pay a heavy price economically for this lockdown. But we have to save all of you, all Indian. This will be a 21 day lockdown to break the cycle. Forget going out. Corona means "Koi Road Pe Na Nikle".

Only way out is social distancing, there is no other way.

We have to break the cycle of infection.

Social distancing is for everyone and not just the infected. Some wrong thinking or irresponsibility can land the entire country in a big trouble.

If the irresponsibility continues, India will have to pay a big price

Take the lockdown very seriously. If we cannot do it for 21 days, we will go back by 21 years. Families will be destroyed. I am saying this as a member of your family. Not as the PM.

Remain at home. Remain at home only.  Draw a laxman rekha, a step outside the house will invite corona to your home.

Italy or America has best medicare, but even then they could not stop.

We have only one way out. We cannot go out of home, come what may. Social distancing for everyone- from the PM to a small villager.

Our action now will decide how we can mitigate it.

This is time for restraint at every stage.  Think of those like doctors, nurses, paramedical staff working in hospitals to save people. Think of ward boys, of sanitiation workers, all who are serving you.

The centre and every state working round the clock. All efforts to ensure essential services.
