Dubai: Road mishap leaves Indian-origin man dead

Dubai/IBNS: An Indian-origin man was killed in a road mishap in Dubai city on Friday, media reports said on Saturday.

An Indian expat was killed and another injured in a road accident in Dubai on Friday morning after the vehicle they were travelling in hit a truck, a social worker told Gulf News.

Naseer Vatanappally, Indian social worker, told Gulf News that the two, who were from Abu Dhabi, had come in a van to Dubai to buy fish which they supplied to groceries.

The deceased person was identified as Muhammed Savad.

He was from Mallappuram region in India.

Mohamed Abdul Bari, 42, who was driving, was injured. He also hailed from Kerala (Vadakkuuri), the social worker told the newspaper, adding, he was rushed to a hospital in Dubai for treatement. 

A Dubai Police official told Gulf News that the accident happened around 5:27am on Sheikh Zayed Road.
