New Delhi/IBNS: Indian PM Narendra Modi on Monday wished JP Nadda as he was elected as the new President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

" Congratulations to Shri @JPNadda Ji on being elected @BJP4India President. Wishing him the very best for his tenure. Nadda Ji is a dedicated and disciplined Karyakarta who has worked for years to strengthen the party at the grassroots. His affable nature is also known to all," Modi tweeted congratulating the Indian Union Minister.

Modi expressed hope that the BJP will touch new heights during the presidency of Nadda.

"Be it as a young Party Karyakarta, MLA, Minister in Himachal Pradesh or Organisational duties at the Centre, MP and Union Minister, @JPNadda Ji has added value to any responsibility he has held. Am sure @BJP4India will scale newer heights during his Presidency," he said.

Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also praised Nadda and tweeted: "Congratulations to Sh @JPNadda  ji on being elected the BJP president.
I am confident the Party will achieve new glory & success under his leadership. Known for his organisational experience Naddaji has always been an asset to the party. Wishing him a successful tenure ahead."

Much similar to what was expected, former Union Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Jagat Prakash Nadda was on Monday elected unopposed as the country's ruling party president.

He succeeded his colleague Amit Shah who is considered as the architect of the BJP's electoral successes in last few years.

Nadda, who is a Rajya Sabha MP from Himachal Pradesh, will remain in his office till 2022.

Being born to Narain Lall Nadda and Krishna Nadda, the 60-year old politician had studied in St. Xavier's School, Patna then did his undergraduate course from Patna College and an LL.B from Himachal Pradesh University in Shimla.

His first entry into politics happened way back in 1993 when he was elected to the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly. He was re-elected in 1998.
