New Delhi/IBNS: A day after raising his voice over the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill 2019, Congress Lok Sabha leader Adhir Chowdhury on Tuesday locked horns with Union Home Minister Amit Shah over the detention of Jammu and Kashmir political leaders since Aug 5 when the Centre scrapped Article 370.

A spirited Adhir asked Shah, "When will the Jammu and Kashmir leaders be released?"

The Home Minister, who was frequently interrupted by Adhir while replying, said, "The leaders will be released at the right time. There is no problem in Jammu and Kashmir but there is a lot of problem in Congress."

"When the Centre scrapped Article 370, everyone said there will be bloodbath but nothing has happened. We all care about the leaders but more we need to think about Kashmir," Shah who is also the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president said.

The Narendra Modi government in a historic move on Aug 5 this year scrapped Articles 370 and 35A to withdraw the special status which Jammu and Kashmir used to enjoy since Independence.

Several Kashmiri leaders including former Chief Ministers Farooq Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti have still been kept under detention.
