Congress releases third list of 19 candidates for Jharkhand polls

New Delhi/UNI: The Congress on Monday released its third list of 19 candidates for the assembly polls in Jharkhand.

The list, cleared by the central election committee of the Congress and released by AICC General Secretary Mukul Wasnik, includes names of Irfan Ansari from Jamtara, R C Prasad Mehta from Hazaribagh, Sanjay Singh from Bokaro and Ajay Nath Shahdeo from Hatia.

With Monday's list, the Congress has released a list of 25 candidates for the assembly polls.

The Congress, in alliance with the Hemant Soren-led Jharkhand Mukti Morcha and Lalu Prasad Yadav's Rashtriya Janata Dal, is contesting on 31 seats. The RJD will contest on seven seats, while the largest chunk of the alliance share has gone to the JMM, which will contest elections on 43 seats.

Jharkhand will vote in five phases, from November 30 to December 20. Counting of votes will take place on December 23.
