Chhattisgarh: Encounter with Naxals claims life of CRPF jawan

Bijapur/IBNS: A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan was killed in an encounter with Naxals in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur on Thursday, media reports said.

The gunfight started at 4 am when a joint team of CRPF jawans and Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA) was carrying out a search operation in Pamed area.

The Naxals opened fire when the CRPF team was cordoning a forest.

Some Naxals are also believed to have been killed in the encounter.

Search operation is underway.
