Police arrest two persons for allegedly raping a woman in a moving vehicle

Guwahati/IBNS: Police had arrested two persons for allegedly raping a woman in a moving vehicle in Assam’s Hojai district.

The accused persons had allegedly raped a woman at Murajhar area.

According to the reports, the victim woman was coming from Nagaon to her home at Murajhar on Sunday night by bus and she was dropped at Doboka bypass area – about 10 km from her home.

When she waiting at the area, the accused persons travelling in a broiler chicken laden vehicle had lured the woman and promised to drop her at the destination.

The victim woman said that, the duo had raped her till Monday morning and fled from the area.

Some locals had rescued the woman from a roadside area on Monday morning and admitted her at hospital.

Later the victim woman had lodged an FIR at Murajhar police station and police had arrested the accused person with the vehicle.

The arrested persons were identified as Mukshed Ali and Suhail Ahmad.

“Yesterday, a woman had informed the Murajhar police that, two persons had raped her in a vehicle. Immediately, the police team had launched operation and arrested the accused persons and seized the vehicle,” a police officer said.

A case has been registered at Murajhar police station in connection with the incident.
